Most of Laughlin’s many tourists are residents of neighboring Arizona, with Phoenix being around eighty miles away. These tourists can gamble away to their heart’s content before heading home with their winnings, as gambling is illegal at home, as it is in most US states.
Some of the more famous casino in Laughlin include the world famous Harrah’s on the riverside; the Golden Nugget; and Aquarius.
Visitors to Laughlin will be lucky to catch the annual balloon festival, with usually around two hundred balloons flying over the desert in mid September; one of the biggest in the USA, if not the world.
When in Laughlin, however, most people just want to try their luck on the roulette wheel, play a few rounds of poker, or take in some of the world class entertainment that the town has to offer.
One of the main draws to those prepared to head a little further south, is the fact that Laughlin is on average thirty percent cheaper than Las Vegas, for those who wish to stay that little bit longer.
Next time one is planning a trip to Nevada, Laughlin should be a consideration with hotels, casinos, and restaurants to rival any that Las Vegas has to offer. In a town of so few residents, the population will quadruple each and every weekend. All these people come for a reason, and that reason is that for a more personal and relaxed alternative to Las Vegas Strip, Laughlin is the perfect solution.
