The problem with casino junkets is finding a representative who is skilled and has one’s best interests at heart. Many reps are simply wannabes in a saturated market, whose main objective is to make money, leaving quality of service a distant runner-up.
Some junkets even offer to fly their customers to destinations such as Reno, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Biloxi and other gambling epicenters to ply their trade, earning between 0.6 and 1.8 percent of their punters takings.
There are rules that apply. Contracts must be signed between the casino and the junket rep. They need to wear Identity cards to distinguish them as operators or representatives. Authorities need to be notified if a junket is terminated. They must be 21 or over, have never been bankrupted and hold a license to trade as a junket operative.
Provided a junket rep adheres to these rules and has the relevant documentation to back him or her up, then one should be safe enough.
Be wary of any representative that doesn’t insist on taking one’s personal details, such as name, address, license number and signature. This is standard and should your rep not ask for these details, the authorities ought to be notified.
Gambling is a lucrative business, and a gambler needs to protect their interests. A junket can be a lucrative and enjoyable way to gamble. Just be sure to know the facts.
