Of all the greatest casino DVD’s, many have been released in recent times. The latest James Bond hit, the remake of the Ian Fleming short story ‘Casino Royale’ featuring Daniel Craig in the lead role has been one of the highest grossing Bond movies ever, garnering rave reviews and the coveted Palm d’Or at Cannes.
The Remake of Ocean’s 11, starring George Clooney in Sinatra’s role, alongside Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Don Cheadle, and a host of other stars, is widely accepted as one of the greatest remakes ever, producing two sequels; Ocean’s 12 and Ocean’s 13. This franchise is now available to buy in a DVD box set for as little as ten dollars.
Another example of a fine Casino DVD and some say the all time greatest, is ‘Casino.’
Starring Robert de Niro, Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone, it is a tale of corruption and the Mafia’s role in Las Vegas and its casinos. Brutally violent and featuring several explicit scenes, this isn’t family viewing, but many agree to be both brilliantly filmed by Martin Scorsese, and an accurate portrayal of why the city of Las Vegas sprang out of the desert sand to become the metropolis we know today.
Who could forget the DVD of The Sting, featuring Robert Redford and Paul Newman; another classic heist caper that will be remembered as a classic, yet still so watchable today.
The casino will always sell DVD’s by the bucket load, as it has all the glamour, cash and corruption that translates perfectly to celluloid.
Why not build your own categorized DVD collection of casino movies. Then invite some friends round, get some nice cigars and a few bottles of martini, settle down and enjoy…
